Member of the Board of Directors of the Post of Montenegro, Stojan Sjekloća, supported today's protest by the United Trade Union and the demand that the president of the strike committee from 2023, Jugoslav Marković, return to work.
Sjekloća said that he responsibly claims that the situation at the Post Office is much worse today than in 2016, and that Marković's dismissal is just the tip of the iceberg.
"Dear employees of the Post of Montenegro, unable to do so directly, I hereby send you my full support on the occasion of today's protest. The following facts best demonstrate that the situation at the Post of Montenegro is not good: three negative opinions of the external auditor for 2021, 2022 and 2023, a negative report by the State Audit Institution for 2023 and an overall poor condition, of which only a small part is made public. These facts are reason enough for the competent state institutions to seriously address this state-owned company. All the more so, as the situation is deteriorating every day. At the 85th meeting of the Board of Directors on February 10, 2025, I presented my proposals with the aim of getting out of the current unenviable situation of the Post of Montenegro. Unfortunately, the occasion that brought you together today represents only the 'tip of the iceberg' and a continuation of the comedy by the current management," said Sjekloća.
He also stated that in 2016, as part of the government of electoral confidence, he was part of the board of directors of the Post Office.
"Back then, I published many harmful contracts and shortcomings. I responsibly claim that the situation at the Post of Montenegro is significantly worse today," said Sjekloća.
