The significant increase in foreign direct investment from Great Britain in the past year, as well as productive foreign trade, represent a good basis for deepening cooperation in other areas, assessed the Minister of Economic Development, Nik Đeljošaj.
At a meeting with British Ambassador Dawn McCann and the Director of the British Council for the Western Balkans, Claire Sears, he said that deepening cooperation is also possible in the tourism, innovation and education sectors.
The interlocutors highlighted the strong partnership between Montenegro and Great Britain, emphasizing the strong British support that Montenegro had, both in the process of joining NATO, and in all significant reform, democratic and pro-Western processes.

The interlocutors also emphasized the importance of the creative economy, with Đeljošaj supporting the embassy's ideas related to that area.
Đeljošaj particularly highlighted the dedication, commitment, expertise and sincere support of the British Embassy in the development of the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Free Zones.
"By including British experts in the Working Group for the Drafting of the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Free Zones, we wish to jointly and in the spirit of alliance improve the legislative framework for free zones, harmonizing it with the most advanced and modern European and Western standards," said Đeljošaj.
Meken praised the dedicated work of the Ministry of Economic Development on the formation of the Working Group for the development of the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Free Zones and provided full support in the continuation of activities to make the Working Group successful and productive.
