The office of the President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, Gencij Nimanbegu, has called on the Constitutional Court to rule as soon as possible on the initiative and urgency submitted by the tenants of twenty bathing areas in the territory of that municipality, because it is a matter of public interest.
"What we have been warning about since the moment when the Government of Montenegro in February this year, on the WhatsApp group, adopted amendments to the Program of Temporary Facilities in the Coastal Zone 2024-2028, that it is a document that did not receive the consent of the presidents of coastal municipalities and that it is in contradiction with the then still valid Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Facilities, is receiving its unwanted epilogue these days, largely to the detriment of the citizens of Ulcinj. We appeal to the Constitutional Court to rule as urgently as possible on the Initiative and urgency submitted by the tenants of twenty bathing areas from the territory of the Municipality of Ulcinj, all the more so because it is a matter of public interest, and which decision would aim to prevent further illegal actions by both the Government of Montenegro and the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management, which have far-reaching harmful consequences for the citizens of the Municipality of Ulcinj. 'Right cannot be born from wrongdoing and everyone is obliged to comply with the Constitution and the law'," the statement reads.
