The seasonal employment fair in tourism, Summer Job 2025, which is being held today in Podgorica, is an opportunity for high school graduates and students to acquire practical knowledge, establish professional contacts, and achieve financial independence.
At the fair, it was assessed that students and graduates make Montenegro the world and that they are the future of every economy and society.
The goal is to build bridges between education and the labor market and encourage the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and ideas that lead to a more stable and prosperous community, reports PR Center.
The Seasonal Employment Fair and Open Days of the University of Montenegro (UCG) were organized at the University Sports and Cultural Center by the Student Parliament of the UCG and the Office for Career Development and Lifelong Learning.
The President of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro, Jakov Vukčević, said that more than 90 employers from across the country, offering over two thousand job positions, will be presented to students and graduates at the fair.
"Seasonal employment brings numerous advantages to young people, employers and society as a whole. For high school graduates and students, this is an opportunity to acquire practical knowledge, establish professional contacts and achieve financial independence. For employers, this means easier finding of qualified workforce and use of state incentive measures so that the whole society benefits through strengthening domestic capacities and improving the tourism image of Montenegro," said Vukčević.

He emphasized that more than ten thousand young people gained work experience through the project.
"Our goal remains the same - to build bridges between education and the labor market, to encourage the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas that lead to a better future for young people in Montenegro," said Vukčević.
The Vice-Rector of the University of Montenegro, Veselin Mićanović, believes that the end of high school is the right moment for young people to choose the path to higher education, and the University of Montenegro proudly invites them to become part of that community.
"Enrolling at the University of Montenegro is not only a step towards acquiring academic knowledge, but also a chance to develop as a person, to encounter new ideas, to be part of a dynamic international environment. We are able to offer you 67 study programs in 19 organizational units from various fields this academic year," said Mićanović.
The Minister of Sports and Youth, Dragoslav Šćekić, announced that young people often encounter challenges when looking for a job and that lack of experience is an obstacle mentioned by employers.
"How can you gain experience if there is no opportunity for your first job? That is why events like this play a key role in connecting employers and young people who are ready to learn, work and build their future. Seasonal jobs may not be your final destination, but they are a great start. Every new skill and contact can open the door to more serious business opportunities in the future," said Šćekić.

He thanked employers who recognize the importance of investing in youth.
"Young people are the future of every economy, and your support means we are building a more stable and prosperous community for everyone," Šćekić is confident.
The Mayor of Podgorica, Saša Mujović, believes that there is no greater happiness and gift for a city than when it has a University, which attracts the best, the most productive.
"The knowledge you receive at the University of Montenegro from your professors is truly representative, but knowledge should have its own purpose and practical value. That is precisely why we are here today. We want to enable you to get the opportunity to start working and build your careers in your Podgorica, your Montenegro. We do not want you to leave here," said Mujović.
The Director of the Employment Service (ZZZ), David Perčobić, believes that Summer Job is not just an opportunity for employment, but a traditional bridge that connects young people with employers, giving them a chance to step into the world of work and develop their potential.
"The ZZZ is an institution that is ready and able to contribute to solving the issue of unemployment. This is not a task that it can do alone. Synergy of all relevant institutions and the community is needed in order to find an effective solution to a serious national challenge," said Perčobić.

He pointed out that the unemployment rate in the north is alarming and amounts to 35 percent, in the central region around six percent, and in the south three percent.
"You will agree that statistics clearly indicate the need to mobilize people from the north for seasonal employment, which will gradually stabilize our labor market. Our goal and mission is to select domestic labor and make job vacancies available to our young people. That is why we are developing measures that encourage competitiveness in the labor market," Perčobić added.
He called on employers to show confidence in domestic workers.
The Seasonal Employment Fair and Open Day will last until 16 pm today at the University Sports and Cultural Center, and will also be held tomorrow in Kotor, at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management.
