In Montenegro, in the fourth quarter of last year, according to Monstat data, there were 315,2 thousand active population, of which 278,7 thousand or 88,4 percent were employed.
Out of the total number of active population, 36,5 thousand or 11,6 percent are unemployed.
The number of employees decreased by 2023 percent and 3,1 percent, respectively, compared to the previous quarter and the same period in 0,4.
The number of unemployed people increased by 2,5 percent compared to the previous quarter, while compared to the same period in 2023, it decreased by 5,9 percent.
Of the total active population, 171 thousand or 54,3 percent are men, and 144,2 thousand or 45,7 percent are women.
The survey states that of the total number of employed people, 150,1 thousand or 53,9 percent are men, and 128,6 thousand or 46,1 percent are women. Of the total number of unemployed people, 20,8 thousand or 57 percent are women, and 15,7 thousand or 43 percent are men.
"The largest number of employed people are in the age group of 25 to 49, namely 174 thousand. Also, the largest number of unemployed people are in the same age group, namely 24,4 thousand," said Monstat.
The structure of employees according to sectors of activity shows that most of them are in the service sector, 76,1 percent, then in the sectors of non-agricultural activity, i.e. industry and construction, 19,5 percent, and in the sector of agriculture, forestry and fishing, 4,4 percent.
The survey covered 1,81 thousand households.
Data on demographic characteristics were collected for all household members, 4,48 thousand of them, and for 3,96 thousand persons aged 15 to 89, and data on their work activity.
