It is time for Montenegro to develop intensively and for leading world investors to come to the country, said Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
Today, he visited the municipality of Ulcinj, where he met with the Mayor of the Municipality, Gencij Nimanbegu, and representatives of the parties in the Municipal Assembly.
As announced by the Government, the meeting discussed the vision for the development of the municipality of Ulcinj, interest in investing, and the tender for the lease of beaches.
"It is up to us to make smart decisions. Many times in the past it has not been like this. I conveyed to the people of Ulcinj a message from one of the world's leading investors, the Emmar and Eagle Hills companies, that they are interested in presenting them with a vision for the development of Velika Plaza and a tourism project that would be the leading of its kind in Europe," said Spajić.

He explained that after the Economic Cooperation Agreement with the United Arab Emirates expired in 2022, which previous governments failed to do, the Government will renew this type of cooperation, and that this document will be the basis for potential large development projects in the north and south of Montenegro.
"We discussed the interests of the local community and the state of Montenegro with representatives of the Ulcinj Municipal Assembly. I also conveyed a message from the United Arab Emirates and investor Mohamed Alabar about the project that we will discuss in the coming period. We heard different opinions, concerns and topics that arise with every big vision. Every big story requires a lot of work, and that is why we must enter into it studiously and in partnership with the local government," said Spajić.

As stated in the statement, at the initiative of Spajić, the investor made a decision to cede the beaches he received in the tender, which were previously leased to local entrepreneurs, to them at the price they bid.
The Mayor of Ulcinj, Gneci Nimanbegu, said that the potential project is a big and important issue for this Municipality.
"This is not an issue that is being ignored, but one that needs to be discussed and arguments considered. I want the Prime Minister to convey to all investors he is in contact with that investors are welcome here and in the interest of the local community. For decades, we have had a certain position of the Government, and as soon as the Prime Minister came here, he showed that he will work differently," said Nimanbegu. The Government announced.

It is added that representatives of political parties in the Ulcinj Municipal Council thanked Spajić for his openness and willingness to jointly consider large development projects in order to take into account all the specificities of the local community.
