The government officially confirmed that New Serbian Democracy official Mladen Mikijelj was re-elected as director of the Coastal Zone yesterday.
As announced, the decision on the appointment was made at a telephone session, based on the obtained consent of the majority of members, and at the proposal of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property.
"Vijesti" yesterday, citing unofficial information, announced that the Government, in an electronic session, reappointed Mikijelj as director of the public company.
Mikijelj's four-year term in that position recently expired.
He was nominated for reappointment by his party colleague, Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, Slaven Radunović.
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić was previously asked at a press conference after the Government session when he would appoint a new director of the Coastal Zone and whether Radunović had provided an explanation for appointing Mikijelj to that position. He said that this issue was not up to the Government.
"There are procedures for the appointment to pass the personnel commission and go to the Government, so we expect such an appointment imminently. It is important that more candidates are sent and an explanation of why the candidate is superior to the others, so we expect such a situation," he said.
