Since the opening of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) office in Podgorica in 2007, around 500 development projects have been implemented, worth more than 20 million euros, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović, at a meeting with TIKA President Serkan Kajalar in Podgorica, said that TIKA is part of the success story of the development of Montenegrin-Turkish relations.
At the meeting, it was assessed that TIKA plays a very important role in strengthening relations between Montenegro and Turkey and provides a significant contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation.
Ibrahimović assessed her presence, through the implementation of projects, in all parts of Montenegro as particularly significant.
He said that dynamic cooperation is accompanied by intensive political dialogue at a high level, whereby Montenegro and Turkey confirm their commitment to nurturing and further developing friendly relations.
Ibrahimović also emphasized the importance of cooperation in the fields of education and culture, as well as the potential for new projects in the field of transport infrastructure.

"The best evidence of the cooperation between our countries is the work, the successful operations of Turkish companies in Montenegro, but also the interest in new investments. All of this contributes to the strengthening of economic and overall interstate ties," said Ibrahimović.
Kayalar said that since his last visit to Montenegro four years ago, cooperation between Turkey and Montenegro has been developing on an upward trajectory, and that the number and importance of successfully implemented projects in numerous municipalities in Montenegro best confirm the commitment to cooperation and strengthening ties between the two countries.
"Our goal was to reach all parts of Montenegro and we succeeded in that," said Kayalar, thanking the Government of Montenegro for its support and very successful cooperation.
He pointed out that TIKA implemented 35 projects in Montenegro last year, and that the plan for this year is even more ambitious.
"We are especially pleased that these are projects that improve the daily lives of citizens," added Kayalar.
The meeting confirmed the commitment to further developing bilateral cooperation, as well as Turkey's commitment to strengthening the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans.
