Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro at the business community meeting in Brussels

EU enlargement brings direct benefits to companies and citizens of countries joining the European Union, it was assessed at the meeting of the EU-WB6 economic platform in Brussels, which was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG).

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro announced that the briefing with the presidents of the chambers of commerce of the Western Balkan countries and leaders of the business community was held by the Director General of the Directorate for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood of the European Commission, Gert Jan Kopman.

"It was an opportunity to discuss the contribution of the ZB6 KIF Business Council, consisting of 21 successful companies from all six Western Balkan countries, and the Thematic Groups, before the relevant bodies of the European Commission," the statement said.

Key topics were regional economic integration and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, trade in goods and services, investment and access to finance, green transition and digital transformation.

The panel discussion Investments and Access to Finance was moderated by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro, Nina Drakić.

The WB6-EU Business Platform was established in 2020 with the aim of bringing together entrepreneurs and decision-makers from the Western Balkans whose dialogue serves both to find administrative, regulatory and policy solutions, as well as to better integrate the Western Balkan business communities into the EU single market, while better preparing for European integration.

This event sent a message to the public in the Western Balkans about the advantages of EU accession through the analysis of strategic documents - the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, the newly adopted Action Plan for the Common Regional Market 2025-2028, and the Declaration of the Western Balkans Leaders on CRM 2025-2028.

In addition to Drakić, the event was attended and participated by the director of the Montenegrin company GRAY International, Marko Škuletić on behalf of the Business Council, as well as the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro, Nikola Vujović, and representatives of the Chamber in the current processes of internationalization and connecting the economy, Dragoljub Bulatović, Balša Ćulafić and Vladimir Tomić.

"The conclusion of the panels and sessions held is that we are approaching the final stages of European integration, and that interest in this key dialogue is growing, which will strengthen cooperation, address challenges and shape the future of the Western Balkan economies within the EU," the statement concluded.
