The governments of Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates signed agreements on economic cooperation and joint investment at a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.
The agreements were signed by Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the presence of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The purpose of the agreement is to encourage the development of cooperation based on equality and mutual benefit in full accordance with the legislation of the two countries, Spajić's cabinet announced.
The cooperation, they said, will encompass numerous areas, with a special focus on strategic and public interest projects, which will "result in economic benefits for the citizens of both countries."
"Montenegro needs investments from credible companies that have had decades of successful large-scale projects, and for which the most reputable countries in the world are ready to guarantee. The Economic Cooperation Agreement has created a basis for expanding the area of cooperation, which will result in greater investments in Montenegro. The Tourism Cooperation Agreement represents the basis for projects that will rapidly accelerate economic growth, create new jobs and improve the standard and quality of life, evenly distributing the benefits - in the south and north of the country. That is why I emphasize the provision of the Agreement that foresees the development of projects in different regions of Montenegro for the first time in history, taking into account the balanced development of our country," said Spajić after the signing.
He also said that this is a great chance for Montenegro for accelerated economic development, and thus a step towards "much higher salaries, pensions and other benefits" for all our citizens.
