Every location in Montenegro will, according to the agreement signed by the Government led by Milojko Spajić, become a target for companies from the United Arab Emirates, claims the president and MP of the Civic Movement URA, Dritan Abazović.
"Behind all this is a big operation that even I couldn't smell. All of this was prepared with the help of people from Serbia, and Spajić, Andrija Mandić and Aleksa Bečić are involved in all of this," claims Abazović, commenting on the current government agreement with the UAE.
He asks why the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) and the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) are "silent" on this issue.
"I don't know why that is. There is probably some greater interest. But do you think this will just pass? People's eyes are already open," said Abazović, a guest on Aplus Television, as reported by the media outlet.
He claims that some ministers did not even know what was written in the text of the agreement they voted on in the electronic session.
"The government wants to give certain companies from the United Arab Emirates the most attractive locations in Montenegro so that they can build shopping malls, luxury apartments... No one is against investments and investors, and no one thinks that the UAE is not a serious country. But the government tried to do something on the spur of the moment. They created a big reputation problem for their companies, and when they had nowhere else to go - they hid behind the United Arab Emirates."
He reminds us that the government has signed agreements with the UAE before. "DPS also signed them, but they were not like this."
Abazović says that he responsibly claims that behind everything is the hidden capital of Montenegrin citizens who are "hiding" in Dubai.
"I have nothing against giving away a kilometer of Velika Plaza, but giving away everything we have – that is unacceptable to me. This is a training ground for laundering the money of Montenegrin citizens who are in Dubai," Abazović believes.
"We don't have this kind of agreement with any country"
Abazović also, in his authorial podcast "Friday with Dritan", assessed that the government's policy is not directed towards membership in the European Union, but towards the "permanent collapse of the state", calling on citizens to resist this.
He claimed, as reported by the URA, that the agreement the Government is signing with the UAE "carries elements of corruption and organized crime."
Commenting on the signing of that agreement, he says that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić's claims that Montenegro already has similar agreements, especially with France and Italy, are untrue.
"We don't have this kind of agreement with any country. These people either have no idea or are extremely rude."
He explained that the contracts with France and Italy are of the "Government to Government" type and that such agreements are usually used for the purchase of specific equipment. As an example, he cited the agreement with France, which was concluded for the purchase of military ships, "not to give away state land."
Abazović said that the agreement with the UAE states that it ceases to be valid on the day Montenegro joins the EU, which is "an unprecedented precedent."
"This is an attempt by the Prime Minister to reduce Montenegro to a state that will give away its main resources to foreign investors," Abazović assessed.
The leader of GP URA believes that a spatial plan for a period of 30 to 40 years should first be adopted, then international competitions should be announced to define what kind of tourism Montenegro wants to develop, and only then proceed with the tender.
"This agreement will come before the MPs and I can't wait to see who will vote for it. The property of the state and every citizen is sacred. Now we will see how many people in Montenegro want to defend this sacredness. This is not just an issue of Velika Plaza - there is no resource that is not threatened by such an agreement. Tomorrow someone may ask to build skyscrapers on the Black Lake," Abazović claims.
He again called on the Special State Prosecutor's Office and the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption to react, expressing concern about the state's recent indebtedness.
"The government of Milojko Spajić has indebted citizens to the tune of two billion euros in one year. This latest debt of 850 million euros without interest is the largest debt in the history of Montenegro. I am proud that my government did not do that, and is repaying old debts."
Commenting on the fact that Dejan Ban, the executive director of Maritime Transport, filed a lawsuit against him, Abazović said that he "can't wait" for the trial, that all those who have sued him so far "ended up in prison," adding that he doesn't want to suspect anything.
"I am proud of the fact that just one move by the 43rd Government brought the state 20 million euros per year, unlike the previous period when Montenegro earned 200.000 euros per year from concessions, as well as the fact that today we have eight vessels owned by Montenegro," said Abazović.
