The European Movement parliamentary group will now support in the Parliament the agreements signed by the Government with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on investments from that country in two projects in Montenegro.

This was confirmed by Europe Now Movement MP Miodrag Laković, after a meeting and consultations on this issue with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.

Yesterday, the government approved two intergovernmental agreements with the UAE relating to the investment of investors from that country in two real estate projects in Montenegro, and they were officially signed in Abu Dhabi last week.

Laković stated that they had heard the details of the agreement, that it would concern not only investments in tourism, but also in other sectors, namely energy, agriculture, security...

"So we believe that this agreement is a good framework for investments from the Emirates and we see in it a great opportunity to strengthen the economy of Montenegro. We will certainly provide support, we see no reason for any parliamentary group or MP not to provide support. We believe that the agreement is truly a chance for Montenegro," he said.

Laković pointed out that in the previous days, many manipulations could be heard regarding this issue, and that there was talk of selling land and resources, even though this was a typical agreement that negotiated a framework for investments.
