Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced that he expects support from part of the opposition in parliament when the agreements signed by Montenegro with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are considered.
"We have started consultations with parliamentary groups. Based on initial reactions, I would say that we can also count on the support of part of the opposition. It is very important that a project like this is supported by as many MPs as possible, because this is something we need to have a consensus on, not fight politically," said Spajić, answering questions from journalists at Villa Gorica, after a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kalas.
Spajić said that, in addition to the ruling majority, he also expects great support from part of the opposition.
He recalled that the Emirates had a very similar agreement with EU member states, stating that their cooperation was quite intensive.
Spajić announced that there will be more interstate agreements by the end of next year.
"In addition to the Emirates, which are currently on the agenda, we are preparing very important intergovernmental agreements with three EU member states, which will enable us to make large investments, build infrastructure and many other projects that have perhaps not been in focus so far," added Spajić.
When asked how she views Montenegro's possible cooperation with the UAE, Kalas said that Montenegro's economic development is definitely in the EU's interest and that they want to diversify the economic portfolio.

"What is important is that all laws and all commitments undertaken by Montenegro are respected and that European companies have the same rights when it comes to investments in Montenegro," concluded Kalas.
