Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have achieved successful bilateral cooperation, and there is great room for improvement in the field of tourism, for which good air connectivity and improved infrastructure are important.
This was assessed at a meeting between the Minister of Tourism of Montenegro Simonida Kordić, who is on an official visit to the UAE, and the UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zejoudi.
Kordić, as announced by the Ministry of Tourism, is on an official visit to the UAE at the invitation of the UAE Ministry of Economy and the AIM Congress, which began in Abu Dhabi.
She met with Al Zeyoudi today.
"During the meeting, it was noted that successful bilateral cooperation has been achieved in the previous period, but that there is also great room for improvement in the field of tourism, for which good air connectivity and improved infrastructure are important," the statement said.
It is stated that the meeting also discussed strengthening relations based on the Memorandum of Cooperation, which represents a very important framework for the realization of numerous opportunities on which the two countries can work together.
Al Zejoudi stated that there is great interest in Montenegro and the region in general and added that he is ready to assist in activities to promote Montenegro in the UAE.
"Kordić introduced him to the strategic commitment to stimulating investments in modern forms of tourism, the development of the northern region, and the improvement of infrastructure so that Montenegro becomes a comprehensive tourism system, operational throughout the year," the statement said.
It is emphasized that the meeting particularly emphasized Montenegro's potential for the development of MICE tourism and the importance of investing in congress capacities.

Kordić also introduced Al Zejoudi to the concept of regional cooperation in the field of tourism, which refers to a joint approach towards distant markets, which would provide tourists from those countries, including the UAE, with the opportunity to get to know multiple countries during one trip.
It was announced that Kordić will speak tomorrow, at the invitation of UN Tourism, in cooperation with AIM Congress and UNCTAD, at the Ministerial Roundtable on Investments in Tourism.
She will speak on the topic "Shaping Investment Opportunities in Tourism through Innovation Policies", where she will present Montenegro's tourism investment potential and incentives.
