The head of the Civic Movement URA parliamentary group, Miloš Konatar, said that he would not go to consultations with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić regarding the agreement signed by the Government with the United Arab Emirates.
He said that he sees such consultations with parliamentary groups, on agreements that cannot be changed in the Assembly, as "just a bad show and a sham of democracy."
"Dear Prime Minister Spajić, I believe that dialogue is always necessary and that there is no alternative, however, for it to be successful, it must have its purpose and good intention. If there had been a good intention to make the entire process transparent, you would have held consultations while the agreements were in the draft stage and before they were signed, not only with political parties, but also with the civil sector, civic activists and the academic community," Konatar wrote in a response to Spajić, which he published on Iks.
He points out that the agreements with the UAE cannot be changed in the Parliament, because Spajić has already signed them.
"So, after the discussion, they can only be voted on, and therefore, the dialogue you are calling for, apart from good intentions, has no purpose. Prime Minister Spajić, I take this opportunity to once again call on you to take things back to the beginning and not go all the way, because the agreements signed with the UAE open the door to the possible devastation and sale of the most valuable natural resources, without any plan or control," said Konatar.
