The government will finance the construction of the Lovćen - Cetinje cable car from the Capital Budget, the cabinet of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced.

During the meeting between Spajić and the Mayor of Cetinje, Nikola Đurašković, it was reported that the finalization of the project would have a huge positive impact on the lives of the citizens of the capital.

"The Government of Montenegro will finance this project worth 60 million euros. We will provide additional funds in the Capital Budget for this year and thus enable a quick tender. We thank the Royal Capital for providing the Environmental Impact Assessment. We are building the fastest connection between two symbols of Montenegrin history," Spajić emphasized.

During the meeting, the interlocutors agreed that work on the project would be intensified, and that it was realistic to expect the tender to be announced in the last quarter of this year.

As announced, Đurašković thanked the Prime Minister for his cooperation and pointed out the importance of this project for the citizens of Cetinje.

"It is difficult for an infrastructure project to be more significant for the Royal Capital, and the main reason is that it can change the local economy in a short time and properly valorize tourism potential - historical heritage and national parks," said Đurašković.

It was concluded that with the construction of key transport infrastructure, Montenegro will be much better connected, and Cetinje "will become a significantly significant part of the tourist offer, which it deserves."
