Turkish diplomacy is completely open and ready to deepen cooperation and mutual support, it has important development plans within the framework of world trade, in which the Port of Bar will play a strategic role, said Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Kemal Bozaj.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Mirsad Nurković, as part of his official visit to Turkey, met with Bozaj and the Director General of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Serkan Kayalar.

Bozaj, who also serves as Director for European Union Affairs, said that "this visit represents a contribution to strengthening cooperation between two friendly countries that has lasted for more than a century," the office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament announced.

"Bozaj emphasized that Turkish diplomacy is completely open and ready to deepen cooperation and mutual support, and he informed Vice President Nurković about important development plans within the framework of world trade, in which the Port of Bar will play a strategic role. This will, as he said, make Montenegro an unavoidable factor in regional and global economic development," the statement reads.

Nurković said that this visit is a natural continuation of the previous official meeting between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and Turkey – Ervin Ibrahimović and Hakan Fidan. He emphasized that the visit further confirms the quality of relations between the two countries and efforts towards even stronger cooperation.

"He particularly thanked the Turkish diplomacy for its support in promoting Montenegro, and expressed satisfaction with the information that Montenegro will have a significant place in future geopolitical and Euro-Atlantic developments, both in the economic and other spheres. He also expressed hope that, in accordance with Bozaj's announcements, Montenegro will be a destination for new investments and development ventures," the statement reads.

Kayalar introduced Nurković to the projects that TIKA has implemented in Montenegro so far, emphasizing that the institution "remains committed to supporting and further developing Montenegrin communities through concrete projects."

"Our cooperation with Montenegro is not only bilateral, it is also developmental. With more than 500 implemented projects, we represent one of the most important partners to Montenegro. We do not want that number to remain static - we are open to new proposals and initiatives, in order to jointly improve the living conditions of citizens," Kayalar emphasized.

Nurković emphasized that it was an honor for him to meet with the head of an institution that, as he said, had done a lot for Montenegro.

"I am particularly pleased with your openness to further cooperation and support. I can freely say that we are already in the preparation phase of new development projects that will contribute to improving the living standards of citizens," he emphasized.

He thanked the TIKA organization for its presence in all parts of Montenegro and in all spheres of society, emphasizing that their help is "felt by every citizen."

"General Director Kayalar announced a new visit to Montenegro in the near future, and arranged a next meeting with Vice President Nurković, at which they will discuss specific projects and directions for future cooperation," the statement reads.
