Prices of personal consumption products and services, measured by the consumer price index, were up 2,6 percent on average in March compared to the same month last year, according to Monstat data.
Consumer prices in March were 0,3 percent higher on average compared to February.
"The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate was the increase in prices in the groups of real rent paid by tenants for their primary residence, restaurants, cafes and the like, fruit, pharmaceutical products, vegetables, coffee, tea and cocoa, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets," the statement said.
Consumer prices in the period January-March, compared to the same period last year, were 2,7 percent higher on average.
Observed by main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption, in March, compared to the previous month, growth was recorded in the groups health 3,2 percent, restaurants and hotels 1,2 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages 0,5 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels 0,4 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0,3 percent, other goods and services 0,2 percent, recreation and culture 0,1 percent.
A price drop was recorded in the group of transportation by one percent and furniture, household equipment and routine home maintenance by 0,5 percent.
The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
