There are 392.910 apartments registered in Montenegro, with a total area of 28,61 million square meters, according to census data.
Monstat announced that of this, 285,73 thousand are for permanent residence, with an area of 21,92 million square meters, while 16,72 thousand apartments are used only for business purposes, with an area of 732,94 thousand square meters.
There are 89,08 thousand apartments for seasonal use, with an area of 5,86 million square meters, while there are 1,37 thousand apartments without information on the method of use, with an area of 95,4 thousand square meters.
"Of the total number of apartments for permanent residence, 214,53 thousand are occupied apartments with an area of 17 million square meters, while 71,2 thousand are temporarily unoccupied/abandoned apartments with an area of 4,92 million square meters," the statement said.
The average area of occupied apartments in Montenegro is 79,3 square meters, the average area of living space per person is 27,5 square meters, while the average number of people living in occupied apartments is 2,9 people.
The Census of Population, Households and Dwellings was conducted in the period from 3 to 30 December 2023 in accordance with the Methodology for the Preparation, Organization and Conduct of the Census.
