The net profit of the Post of Montenegro last year amounted to 2,55 million euros.
The company's Board of Directors adopted the financial statements for last year at its meeting today, with the opinion of an independent auditor.
"The adopted financial statements show that net profit for last year amounted to 2,55 million euros, which is 2,43 million more than in 2023," the company said in a statement.
The Board of Directors, it was added, expressed satisfaction with the outstanding financial results, emphasizing that the result clearly shows that in the previous year, led by the management bodies, an extraordinary effort was made to operate successfully.
"The Board of Directors has given full support to Executive Director Josip Đurašković to continue with the activities that have been initiated in accordance with strategic decisions that are undoubtedly yielding exceptional results," the statement added.
Đurašković thanked the Board of Directors for the support they provided, which was undoubtedly also provided by the Board in the previous convocation, as well as for recognizing that the achieved results are the fruit of the joint efforts of the majority of employees at the Post Office.
He pointed out that this shows that the Board of Directors and the CEO, as well as the majority of employees, share a common vision of development and progress.
Đurašković expressed his gratitude to the employees who, through their effort, commitment and dedicated work, managed to achieve a result worthy of all respect.
"We were able to recognize this through increasing salaries, additional salary increases through the implementation of the Europe Now 2 program and directing employer savings towards employees, providing cash gifts for the New Year holidays and in any other way that improves the position of employees," said Đurašković.
He emphasized that the challenges that are visible from the independent auditor's report, which were inherited and appear in the audit reports for the previous four years, date back a long time and were not legally resolved during the company's restructuring in 2011, are certainly not being ignored.
Đurašković explained that this primarily refers to the issue of immovable property that makes up the company's core capital and which is not adequately registered in the real estate cadastre.
He emphasized that all legal actions available to the company were taken regarding corrections to the registration in the real estate cadastre, and the last one was exhausted by initiating a dispute to determine ownership rights before the competent court.
Therefore, as stated, these are obviously inherited problems, for which this leadership bears no responsibility.
Đurašković expressed his belief that this year will be one of investment and development, which is also shown by the public procurement plan, as well as the expectation that this will create conditions for the further development of the Post, especially in the field of commercial services.
He concluded that the Post, led by this management, is irrevocably committed to the path of development, as evidenced by the achieved results, which they will strive to make even better, so that the company can keep pace with modern postal administrations of the European Union (EU).
