The current Adriatic Highway, about two kilometers long (from the general aviation platform of Tivat Airport to the Krtolj intersection), remains outside the route of the boulevard that was built several dozen meters above the existing route of this road, on part of the former vineyards of the former Montepranzo-Bokaprodukt agricultural estate. As such, this section of the highway will become a double-blind road that will no longer be in regular use for the passage of vehicles.

ACG confirmed to "Vijesti" that they will submit an official initiative to ceded these several tens of thousands of square meters of land to them alongside the current complex of the Tivat airport, since that airport already lacks space to expand its capacities and build other necessary facilities for the airport.

"Vijesti" was unable to obtain a precise answer about the fate of the part of the Adriatic Highway in Tivat that will soon be abandoned, even from the Traffic Administration, which is the investor in the Tivat-Jaz boulevard construction project and is responsible for the construction of new and maintenance of existing state road infrastructure.

"At this moment, the Administration does not have information about the ultimate purpose of this part of the existing highway. It will be able to be used by Tivat Airport, however, the Traffic Administration believes that after the completion of the works, this part could be used to widen the existing canal, at least temporarily, given the major water problems that were noted during the works on the boulevard," the Administration, headed by Radomir Vuksanovic.

The Traffic Administration announced at the time that by the end of April, the largest section of the new boulevard from Tivat to Radanovići, i.e. the intersection for Dub and Bigova, would be asphalted and ready for use.

The reconstruction of the existing Adriatic Highway from Tivat to Jaz along the boulevard is being carried out over a length of 16 kilometers. The work, worth over 54 million euros excluding VAT, is being carried out by the Chinese consortium Shandong Foreign Economic & Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd & Shandong Luqiao Group Co Ltd, and the main local subcontractor is the Podgorica-based construction company Bemax. The works officially began in January 2024 and should be completed within two years. The reconstruction of this section of the Adriatic Highway, as previously announced by the Traffic Administration, involves the construction of a boulevard-type road, which will have two lanes in each direction of travel (a total of 4x3,25 meters), sidewalks on both sides (a total of 2x2 meters) and a median strip (two meters), and a new pipeline of the Regional Water Supply System will be built alongside it in order to improve water supply in three Boka municipalities. The boulevard will have as many as 12 roundabouts and five three-way intersections.
