The tender procedure for the lease of the bathing areas is in its final phase. When it comes to the public call for tenders for 71 bathing areas in the Herceg Novi area, contracts have been signed with half of the tenants, while the company expects the remaining tenants to pay the funds and sign the contracts in the coming days.
"The decision to conduct a tender procedure for the lease of the bathing area proved to be correct, which was confirmed by the great interest of potential tenants," Milan Kovačević from the Coastal Zone told RTHN, emphasizing that the process has been completed for 95 percent of the locations.
"We have made decisions for those 95 percent of the beaches. Before the evaluation and ranking of our commissions, which have done a perfect job, what lies ahead as a closer job is those five percent of approximately unallocated locations. A public call has already been issued for a good part of them. We will have one opening for the municipality of Herceg Novi on April 30," he said.
The new atlas of beaches in the Herceg Novi area foresees 149 beaches, reminds Kovačević.
"There are three swimming pools, nine public swimming pools that are planned without beach furniture and 32 are long-term investment swimming pools, which have already been leased, so there were a total of 71 swimming pools in the main call for the municipality of Herceg Novi. Of these, we currently have 35 signed contracts. The rest are in the phase where decisions have been made, we are practically waiting for future tenants to do their part of the work, come, pay the planned funds and sign the contracts," said Kovačević.
When it comes to all the beaches on the Montenegrin coast, most contracts will be signed by the end of the month.
"The bathing areas that were not allocated due to non-receipts or offers that were not correct, and will be repeated, will be in the process by the first half of May. These are mostly bathing areas that are not the most attractive or in some attractive locations, so there may not have been any offers because of that, but it certainly will not affect the overall process," Kovačević told RTHN.
The company Morsko dobro issued a call for tenders for the lease of a bathing area in Herceg Novi on February 22nd, while the bid opening took place on March 14th at the company's premises in Budva.
