Minister of Tourism Simonida Koridć appealed to all entities that have an influence on the development of the tourism industry to contribute as much as possible to eliminating potential challenges, so that Montenegro can be ready to welcome the increased influx of tourists and ensure a quality season.
Kordić, as announced by the Ministry of Tourism, chaired a special session of the Coordination Body for Monitoring Tourist Seasons.
It is stated that Kordić appealed to all entities that have an influence on the development of the tourism industry to contribute as much as possible to eliminating potential challenges, so that Montenegro can be ready to welcome the increased influx of tourists and ensure a quality season.
It is stated that representatives of the Ministry of Transport informed those present that part of the Tivat-Budva boulevard, from Tivat Airport to the turnoff for Bigovo, will be asphalted by the start of the season.
"Other works will be carried out to an extent that will not jeopardize the course of the tourist season, and if this is not possible, they will be temporarily suspended. It has also been announced that the Čevo–Cetinje and Nikšić–Kuside road routes will be completed by the beginning of the summer season," the statement added.
The statement states that it was agreed to continue intensive communication with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) in order to discuss increasing the number of police officers during the season, the possibility of banning the traffic of heavy goods vehicles during the summer season, or limiting it only during night hours, and the regulation of pedestrian traffic on main roads.
The Airport of Montenegro, it was added, announced that an increase in the number of passengers is expected, especially at Tivat Airport, where a growth of as much as 25 percent is forecast compared to last year.
It is stated that the Ministry of Interior pointed out that during March, a 13 percent increase in the number of state border crossings was recorded compared to the same period last year, which, it was added, further confirms the positive trends ahead of the summer tourist season.
