Works on key infrastructure and environmental projects in Pljevlja are proceeding according to plan, the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) announced after EPCG Executive Director Ivan Bulatović and his associates visited the works at the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant "in order to further examine the possibilities for accelerating certain activities and improving inter-sectoral cooperation."
The EPCG management, as stated in the statement, visited the locations where works are being carried out as part of the ecological reconstruction of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant, as well as areas related to the planned relocation of the Ćehotina river bed and the expansion of the Maljevac landfill.
The focus of discussions with partners, including representatives of the Coal Mine, was on further harmonization of activities in order to optimize deadlines, wherever possible, without compromising the quality and standards of the work performed.
Bulatović emphasized the importance of these projects for the development of northern Montenegro and the overall energy stability of the country.
"We are satisfied with the pace of the works, but our ambition is to complete them earlier than planned, wherever there is a realistic basis for it, without jeopardizing the quality of the works. EPCG is strongly investing in Pljevlja, because we believe in its potential and we know that citizens expect concrete results. This is a strategically important moment for the energy and environmental future of this region, and that is precisely why we are present on the ground - to give additional impetus to all participants in the process," said Bulatović.
EPCG, as stated in the statement, will continue to continuously monitor and support the implementation of all phases of works in Pljevlja, with the aim of creating a sustainable, responsible and modern energy system.
