The Tax Administration (TA) achieved gross revenue collection of 599,2 million euros in the first four months of this year, which is 5,4 million more than in the same period last year.

"The increase in collection is the result of several factors, including an increase in the level of fiscal discipline, encouraging voluntary compliance with tax regulations, applying forced collection measures, and sanctioning illegal business operations," the Tax Administration announced.

The Tourist Administration emphasized that operational activities will be intensified in all segments of jurisdiction during the summer tourist season, with the aim of ensuring a stable inflow of budget funds.

Value added tax (VAT) collection amounted to 167 million euros, which is 27 million, or 19 percent more than last year.

Based on corporate income tax, 1 million euros were collected in the period from January 30 to April 192, which is 12,6 million, or seven percent more than last year.

Based on contributions, 127,4 million euros were collected, which is 55 million, or 30 percent less than the collection in the comparable period last year.

"Despite the fact that the amendments to the Law on Contributions for Mandatory Social Insurance from October 1 last year reduced the contribution rate for PIO, the PA achieved a growth trend in total budget revenues," the statement specifies.

Contributions borne by the insured have been reduced from 15 percent to ten percent, and contributions borne by the employer from 5,5 percent to zero percent, meaning the total burden on PIO contributions for all categories of taxpayers is ten percent.
