The Mayor of Budva Municipality, Nikola Jovanović, today hosted the Ambassador of the European Union to Montenegro, Johan Sattler, with whom he discussed the preparation of the upcoming tourist season, as well as infrastructure projects being implemented with the support of the EU.
As announced by the Municipality, Sattler visited Budva accompanied by communications advisor Radovan Bogojević and program manager Ana Marigues.
The meeting was also attended by officials from the European Integration Office of the Municipality of Budva.
"This visit represented an important opportunity to exchange views on the cooperation so far and discuss projects implemented with the support of the European Union, as well as further steps within the European integration process of Montenegro. Special attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming tourist season, improving infrastructure and strengthening the administrative capacities of local self-government. Ambassador Sattler expressed his satisfaction with the achieved results and emphasized the importance of engaging local communities in the European integration process. He emphasized that Budva, as one of the most prominent tourist, cultural and historical centers of Montenegro, has a special responsibility and potential to promote European values," the statement said.
Jovanović, it was added, thanked the ambassador for his continued support, emphasizing that the Municipality of Budva remains open to further cooperation and clearly focused on implementing initiatives that contribute to community development and the acceleration of European integration.
