Strengthening cooperation, especially in the field of improving transport infrastructure, was one of the topics of the meeting between Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević and Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Tatiana Molcean.
At the meeting held within the framework of the international forum on public-private partnerships (PPP) and sustainable infrastructure, organized by UNECE, both sides assessed that there is room for further deepening cooperation, especially through concrete projects that would further improve Montenegro's regional connectivity and its integrity in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
The Ministry of Transport announced that Vukićević and Molcean, who is also the UN Deputy Secretary General, also discussed green mobility and strengthening the resilience of infrastructure to climate change.
"Special emphasis was placed on the importance of implementing the highest international standards and best practices in the implementation of capital infrastructure projects in Montenegro," the statement said.
Molcean said that she was pleased with Montenegro's engagement within the framework of UNECE activities and emphasized the organization's readiness to provide expert and technical support in the development of sustainable and innovative solutions in the field of transport.
Vukićević was also one of the panelists at the Ministerial Panel on Climate Action and Resilient Infrastructure Systems, which was moderated by Molcean.
Molcean called on the Montenegrin Ministry of Transport to continue to actively participate in international initiatives that contribute to better transport connectivity, economic sustainability and environmental protection.
