Representatives of the governments of Montenegro and the Czech Republic are expected to sign a memorandum of cooperation soon, which will represent a significant framework for the development of institutional cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport.
The Ministry of Transport said that during the meeting between the relevant Minister Maja Vukićević and her Czech counterpart, Martin Kupka, at the International Transport Forum in Leipzig, it was agreed that the next step in strengthening bilateral cooperation would be the signing of a memorandum, which should soon be held in Prague.
"During the meeting, it was emphasized that the relations between the two countries are characterized by a strong partnership and mutual understanding, and the memorandum confirms the intention to further deepen cooperation, especially in the segments of modernization of transport infrastructure," the statement said.
The Memorandum should improve cooperation through the exchange of knowledge and experience in the areas of development and maintenance of transport infrastructure, implementation of modern traffic management systems, increasing safety and accessibility of mobility, as well as support for environmentally friendly transport solutions.
The document, as explained, also envisages specific forms of cooperation, including the organization of joint seminars, workshops and training programs, as well as the exchange of experts and technical solutions.
Vukićević stated that improving transport infrastructure is one of the key priorities of the Government of Montenegro, and that the expertise of Czech partners can represent valuable support in the realization of that goal.
The signing of the memorandum will, as they said, be an important step in strengthening Montenegro's European path in the field of transport, as well as an example of quality international cooperation in the function of sustainable development and integration of modern technologies into the domestic transport system.
