Kordić: It is necessary to keep up with new trends, use new technologies and artificial intelligence

"The data that its total share in GDP annually amounts to up to 30 percent speaks for how important tourism is for Montenegro. Therefore, it is necessary to keep up with new trends, adopt and use new technologies and artificial intelligence, but also, with a regional approach, open new overseas markets," said Kordić at the Marrakech Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean Region and the Gulf.

Tourism is important for Montenegro, which is why it is necessary to keep up with new trends, use new technologies and artificial intelligence, but also open new overseas markets, said Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić.

"The data that its total share in GDP annually amounts to up to 30 percent speaks for itself how important tourism is for Montenegro.

At the forum organized in Morocco by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, she said that we live in a time when tourism faces challenges that require a completely new approach, given the fact that this sector is particularly dependent on external influences that individual countries cannot directly influence.

Kordić, as part of a session dedicated to macroeconomic indicators, stated that Montenegro is visited by two and a half times more tourists than it has residents, and that due to seasonality, the new concept of sustainable tourism must focus on the value that this industry brings to local communities, but also protects nature and cultural heritage.

The Ministry of Tourism announced that Kordić met with several heads of delegations from European and African countries as part of the forum.

She also spoke with the Minister of Energy and Mining of Jordan, Saleh Kharabsheh, and the interlocutors assessed that good bilateral relations provide a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation.

Kordić expressed interest in increasing the number of tourists from Jordan, while the Jordanian minister stated that during the presentation of Montenegro at the forum, he had the opportunity to see photographs of its natural beauty, expressing his belief that a large number of Jordanians would be interested in visiting it.

Special attention was paid to the need to establish direct air routes between the two countries, as well as to the promotion of Montenegro in that market.
