Former saltworks workers, about 40 of them, radicalized their protests and blocked the main road towards Bar near "Kips" at the entrance to Ulcinj for almost two hours today, instead of an hour, as on the previous two occasions.
As a result, huge lines of vehicles formed on both sides, even though the police were redirecting drivers to alternative routes.
Worker representative Saša Mitrović said that the workers will remain persistent in their demands.
They are demanding that the bankruptcy administration pay them 900 thousand euros in unpaid wages and contributions for about five and a half years of service.
Mitrović announced a two-hour blockade for next Saturday at the same time.
"No one has contacted us so far, but we are in no hurry. The season is ahead of us," Mitrović told "Vijesti".
The decision to block city roads in protest of unpaid wages and contributions was made unanimously by the workers on Sunday, May 4, at a meeting marking 20 years since the introduction of reorganized bankruptcy in the oldest company in Ulcinj.
At the meeting, it was agreed that the road blockades would initially last for one hour.
The workers believe that the time has finally come for the state to resolve their issue.
Solana has been in programmed bankruptcy since 2005 and in classic bankruptcy since 2011.
The last salt harvest was in 2013.
