Representatives of the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution of Montenegro and the Center for Peaceful Dispute Resolution of Croatia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences and resources.

The Executive Director of the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution of Montenegro, Maja Golović Vojinović, met in Zagreb with the Director of the Center for Peaceful Dispute Resolution of Croatia, Marin Vuković.

"At the event organized on the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between these two institutions, opinions were exchanged on the current moment when alternative dispute resolution is in question, with special emphasis on resolving disputes through mediation," the Montenegrin institution said in a statement.

On that occasion, it was emphasized that one of the main tasks of the signatories to the Memorandum is to promote mediation as a faster and more efficient way of resolving disputes compared to regular court proceedings.

Golović Vojinović emphasized the importance of signing the Memorandum, which will contribute to better coordination between the two centers, enabling the exchange of knowledge, experiences and resources, as well as joint work on projects that will advance the development of alternative dispute resolution.

"The memorandum will enable the implementation of joint educational programs, research and promotional activities with a focus on international legal standards and best practices in the field of alternative dispute resolution. Both centers will work together on the training and development of mediators," said Golović Vojinović.

Vuković assessed that the signing of the Memorandum represents an important step towards strengthening the role of alternative dispute resolution methods in legal systems.

"Our common goal is to encourage the wider application of alternative dispute resolution methods through the promotion of international standards and, through joint work, provide professional support and education to Montenegrin and Croatian mediators," concluded Vuković.
