Beaches on Velika Plaza - Adriatica", "Havana", "Safari", "Saranda", "Hills", "Coral" and "Mykonos" are going to the second-ranked bidders. The company "Eagle Hills", owned by investor from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohamed Alabar, has given up on seven beaches on Velika Plaza and they will go to the second-ranked bidders, "Vijesti" has learned from unofficial sources.

These are the beaches "Adriatica", "Havana", "Safari", "Saranda", "Hills", "Coral" and "Mykonos", while it concluded a lease agreement with the Public Company for the Management of the Coastal Zone for the Tropikana beach, one of the first officially registered since the Coastal Zone began renting out the coast for use.

The case with the ninth beach, “Imperial”, which Alabaro’s company “Eagle Hills” also received in the rendering, is still unclear, i.e. whether the Arab billionaire has given up on that beach as well or not. According to unofficial information, the offer of the second-ranked bidder is not complete and therefore he would not be able to conclude a lease agreement with Morski dobro if Eagle Hills withdraws.

The interviewee of "Vijesti" said that Alabar gave up on seven bathing sites, but that he would pay the guarantees to Morski Dob and that he would be reimbursed for that money.

"He hasn't given up on two beaches, but I think the problem is that the second-ranked offer on one of them is incomplete. In any case, even if the current tenants soon sign contracts with the Coastal Zone, it is certain that, taking into account the complicated paperwork, they will not be able to obtain operating permits in the foreseeable future," he said.

"Vijesti" is waiting for a response from the Coastal Zone Authority regarding the exact date, that is, the deadline for "Eagle Hills" to conclude lease agreements with the PE.

The state-owned company has sent official invitations to the company "Eagle Hills" to conclude contracts for the use of the marine area at nine beaches on Velika Plaza and if they are not concluded, the public company will, in accordance with the procedure, invite second-ranked bidders at all locations where "Eagle Hills" originally received the right to use it.

The Coastal District told "Vijesti" that the tender procedure was carried out entirely legally and transparently, without unrealistically high or fictitious bids being submitted.

"This has fulfilled all the conditions for, in the event of the first-placed bidder withdrawing, to proceed smoothly with the conclusion of the contract with the second-ranked participants. At the same time, the procedure for activating the bank guarantees submitted by the company "Eagle Hills", in the total amount of approximately 600.000 euros, will be initiated, thus ensuring the protection of public interest and responsible management of state resources," the Public Enterprise's response reads.
