Former workers of the Bajo Sekulić Saltworks will again block the road at the entrance to Ulcinj near Kipsa for two hours on Saturday, June 14th at 11,00:XNUMX AM.
Worker representative Saša Mitrović said he understood the outcry from citizens, tourists, and some officials, emphasizing that people were being forced to radicalize the protests.
"Just as we understand them, we ask that they all understand us. And what is very important, we are not blocking the road illegally. On the contrary, we respect the law and in accordance with it, we reported the protest within the legal deadline," said Mitrović.
The decision to block city roads in protest of unpaid wages and contributions was made unanimously by the workers on Sunday, May 4, at a meeting marking 20 years since the introduction of reorganized bankruptcy in the oldest company in Ulcinj.
It was agreed at the meeting that the road blockades would initially last for one hour.
The bankruptcy administration owes workers around 900 thousand euros in unpaid wages and contributions for around five and a half years of service.
The workers believe that the time has finally come for the state to resolve their issue.
Solana has been in programmed bankruptcy since 2005 and in classic bankruptcy since 2011.
The last salt harvest was in 2013.
