This year, the Pljevlja Coal Mine (RUP) allocated 100.000 euros to sponsor 11 sports clubs from that city.
Sponsorship agreements with Executive Director Nemanja Laković were signed by representatives of: RK “Rudar”, KK “Rudar”, RK “Pljevlja”, OK “Rudar”, KK “Potoci”, AK “Rudar”, Judo Club “Pljevlja”, Auto - Moto Sports Club “AP Sport”, Chess Club “Rudar”, FK “Breznica” and OK “Pljevlja”.
Laković, as stated in the statement, said that RUP traditionally remains dedicated to all segments of social life in Pljevlja and that this year it will continue to support Pljevlja sports.
"The Pljevlja Coal Mine will continue, as in previous years, to support sports, because we believe that it is the foundation of a healthy society and an important factor in the growth of young people. We have decided to help sports organizations that work the most with young people, because we believe that children's sports are the foundation of a healthy society. By investing in sports, we invest in their health, the development of talents, but also the future of the community in which we operate. We continue with the good tradition for the benefit of sports, for which Pljevlja has been recognized for decades. This initiative once again confirms RUP's commitment to investing in the future and strengthening the community through support for sports, education, culture and other socially important areas, and added that the company will always be supportive not only financially but as a true partner who shares victories, passion, values and goals," said Laković.
Representatives of sports clubs expressed their gratitude for the support of the RUP.
"The donation is very important for the development of the club and allows us to be competitive so that we can win some trophies in the future. I would like to thank the Coal Mine and the Executive Director. This is a significant financial injection that helps us in our work every year," said the president of RK "Rudar" Igor Mašković.
President of the Auto - Moto Sports Club "AP Sport", Mirhad Plakalo, emphasized that "since the club was founded, Rudnik has always been with us. Finances are important, but it is more important that someone thinks about you and recognizes your work. It is our obligation to justify the invested funds and to prove that we are the best in the sport."
The coal mine is the backbone of the entire Montenegrin economy and has always helped the clubs in its city, emphasized the president of the AK "Rudar", Radoš Gačević.
"He has been a supporter of our club for years, and we hope that this cooperation will continue in the future. If it weren't for sponsorship, we wouldn't be able to organize many of our activities, and for that, we thank him," concluded Gačević.
