The Regional Water Supply System announced that during the construction of the Tivat - Jaz boulevard, due to the negligence of the contractor, the Chinese company "Shandong" and the subcontractor, the company "Bemax", the main pipeline of the Regional Water Supply System was damaged.
"This incident caused a temporary interruption of water supply to the municipalities of Kotor and Tivat. We would like to remind you that, unfortunately, this is not the first case of a similar omission by the contractor on the same route. In all previous situations, the Regional Waterworks has consistently used its contractual rights and initiated proceedings to compensate for the damage caused. Our technical teams are already on the ground and are working intensively to repair the damage, taking all necessary measures to complete the repair as soon as possible. According to current estimates, the completion of the works and the establishment of a regular water supply is expected by 20.00:XNUMX p.m.," the state-owned company emphasized.
Although this type of damage, as they point out, on average requires up to 24 hours for complete repair, thanks to previous experiences with similar situations, our teams reacted immediately and efficiently, which enabled a much faster resolution of the problem.
"We would like to note that, in accordance with the agreement reached with the presidents of the Municipalities of Tivat, Kotor and Herceg Novi, the Regional Water Supply Company has decided not to relocate the pipeline after June 1. This decision was made with the aim of avoiding such situations during the summer months, when water consumption is at its maximum level and a stable water supply is of utmost importance for citizens and tourists on the coast. We ask citizens for patience and understanding during the duration of the rehabilitation works. The Regional Water Supply Company remains committed to the rapid and efficient normalization of the system, as well as transparently informing the public about all relevant details," the statement concludes.
