The MPs gave the green light and the Parliament adopted the Proposal for a Decision on the Adoption of the Spatial Plan of Montenegro until 2040.
At this session, 50 MPs voted, of which 42 were in favor and eight were against. The votes against came from the opposition benches of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
DPS MP Mihailo Anđušić emphasized that the Environmental Protection Agency issued a decision ordering the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property to accept the objections and the report on the strategic impact assessment on the Spatial Plan.
"This means that, in accordance with this decision, the Ministry must return the Spatial Plan for revision in order to take into account the comments that clearly indicate the shortcomings of the document. This is one of the proofs that the plan was sent as a shortcut, that the MPs had seven days to familiarize themselves with the 500-page document, which underwent serious changes after the public debate," he said, adding that the vote should be postponed.
Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić stressed that they had finished the debate on this item and that they would express their views, while the situation would be resolved at a later date. He added that the Parliament is older than the Government, the Ministry and the Agency, and that they are representatives of the people who will express their own position and opinion - because the citizens gave them that right.
Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property Slaven Radunović said yesterday during the discussion on the Spatial Plan that they have accepted the obligation to adopt this plan by the end of June, and that Montenegro will receive 2,3 million euros if the document is adopted by June 30.
