The Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) has celebrated 16 years of existence and operations, and, as announced, important strides, transformations and results "that have been recognized at the European and international level" have been achieved.

They announced that their priorities are clear - preserving and improving the level of safety and security, strengthening the control mechanism, investing in professional capacities, and implementing European regulations and international standards.

"Safety is the priority of all priorities. There is no room for compromise when it comes to safety and security standards, lawful and professional decision-making, independence and professionalism. These are the foundations on which we build the civil aviation of Montenegro - in the service of citizens, in partnership with aviation institutions and in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and the Government," said the Director of the Agency, Ivan Šćekić.

In just over a year, the Agency announced, a substantial reorganization has been carried out, for the first time since 2009, professional capacities have been increased, the supervisory and inspection role has been strengthened, and licensing and certification processes have been improved. Among other things, numerous internal procedures have been developed and improved to correct past irregularities, which has also been recognized by the State Audit Institution.

It was also announced that the inspections of the European Commission and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), carried out last year and this year, have been successfully completed.

They emphasize that the best confirmation of the work is the assessment of EASA experts that the staff with experience in aviation has been strengthened, as well as the EC that Montenegro implements all security measures at airports as EU members, and that we have the highest level of compliance with European standards.

"We are open to dialogue, solving challenges and working in partnership in the interest of citizens. I am especially grateful to the employees who contribute to the Agency's successes with their knowledge, expertise, responsibility and dedication," said Šćekić.
