Number portability is a service that allows each subscriber to keep their phone number when changing operators.

The number can be transferred from a landline to a landline, or from a mobile to a mobile network.

The total time for transferring the number is three working days. A subscriber who wants to transfer a telephone number submits a request for number transfer to the operator of the recipient of the number and this is considered a request to terminate the contract with the operator providing the number.

The subscriber can port his number again after three months from the last porting. If the request to transfer the number is rejected, the subscriber can submit a complaint to EKIP.

"EKIP had no such cases related to number portability during the first six months of this year," EKIP concluded.
