In the first half of the year, gross tax revenue collection amounted to 830 million euros, which represents an increase of 12 million euros, or 1,5 percent, compared to the same period last year, the Tax Administration announced.
As they stated, the collection achieved exceeded the revenue plan by 738.700 euros.
"244 million euros were collected on the basis of value added tax, which is 41 million euros or 20 percent more than the previous year. The amount collected on the basis of corporate profit tax for the period from January 1 to June 30 is 210,6 million euros, which is 18,5 million euros or 10 percent more than the previous year. 195 million euros were collected on the basis of contributions, which is 81 million euros or 29 percent lower than the collection in the same period last year," the Tax Administration announced.
They add that the decline in contributions is caused by a reduction in the PIO contribution rate in accordance with the Law on Amendments to the Law on Contributions for Mandatory Social Insurance.
"The trend of increasing budget revenue collection, despite the reduction in contributions, has continued, and further growth is expected in the upcoming months of the summer tourist season through the activities of the Tax Administration aimed at increasing the level of voluntariness in reporting and paying tax obligations and intensified inspection supervision," it was announced.
