During the Statehood Day, market inspectors will monitor compliance with the provisions of the Law on Internal Trade, which relate to the ban on trade, the Ministry of Economic Development announced.
Non-working days for National Day are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
"We remind all traders who carry out wholesale and retail trade activities that they are obliged to comply with Article 35a, paragraph 1 of the Internal Trade Act, which stipulates that trade cannot be carried out on Sundays and on public and other holidays," the statement said.
Exceptionally, on Sundays and on public and other holidays, wholesale and retail trade may, among other things, be carried out in pharmacies, specialized stores or kiosks selling bread, bakery products and cakes, flowers, souvenirs, printing, plant protection products or funeral equipment, gas stations and retail stores within them, and markets.
The Ministry announced that market inspectors will take measures and actions against traders who do not respect the law.
The Ministry's website contains telephone numbers through which irregularities can be reported.
