The Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) has announced a 5.000 euro tender for the development of a conceptual design and main project for solar power plants on the buildings of the Municipality of Berane and the local Sports Center, or football stadium.
This tender is being conducted for the needs of the "Solari 5.000+" project, which was officially announced on July 18 and will last until July 24. The project plans to build a power plant with a total capacity of 300 kilowatts (kW) on the Berane Municipality building, while a power plant with a capacity of up to 120 kW will be built on the football stadium.
The "Solari 5000+" project, announced at the end of 2022 and worth 70 million euros, plans to install solar panels with a total capacity of 70 megawatts (MW) on households, companies and apartments in small residential buildings, up to four floors high. In this way, citizens can produce and sell electricity in addition to consuming it.
The company selected for this job in Berane will have one month after signing the contract to complete it, while it will receive payment within one month of the completed job. Only companies and entrepreneurs that have permits, licenses, and approvals for these jobs can participate in this tender.
"The subject of this public procurement is the services of preparing project documentation for a photovoltaic system, all in accordance with the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Facilities. The documentation includes the preparation of a conceptual design, a main design, as well as all studies necessary to obtain approval for the construction of a local facility of general interest or a building permit if there is no decision on the construction of facilities of general interest in the municipality in question. The designer is obliged to prepare all requests to the authorities that issue technical conditions and approvals," the tender documentation states.
EPCG announced in April that the predecessor projects, namely "Solari 3000+ and 500+", were successfully implemented, through which 30 MW of solar panel power was installed, while "Solari 5000+" is in an advanced stage and they expect that by the end of this year the total power of solar power plants in Montenegro will exceed the planned 100 MW.
