Montenegro is recording a growing trend in the number of guests from distant markets, such as the United States, China, Israel, and Azerbaijan, said Maja Kovačević, Head of the Directorate for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Tourism, adding that it is therefore necessary to work on further diversification of tourism markets.
Kovačević, as announced by the Ministry of Tourism, said that in this way they reduce the negative impacts of phenomena that they cannot influence, such as economic or geopolitical crises, and the like.
"Therefore, the strategic goal of the Ministry of Tourism is to expand Montenegro's tourism offer throughout the year, and reduce dependence on a small number of markets," said Kovačević.
Kovačević added that due to Montenegro's geographical position, it is necessary to strengthen air connectivity and that she is pleased that this summer there are over 95 air routes from Podgorica and Tivat.
"We see this in the example of Barcelona, where in less than a month since the introduction of that line, 12 rotations were organized and over four thousand passengers were transported. It seems that the Spanish market has great potential, and we believe that the number of tourists from that country will only grow in the coming period with adequate promotion," said Kovačević.
