ACG: Air traffic and all aviation operations at Tivat Airport are carried out in accordance with standards

Air traffic and all air operations at Tivat Airport are carried out in accordance with all prescribed international and domestic standards, said the Airports of Montenegro (ACG).

They said that this is confirmed by the fact that from the beginning of the year until mid-August, they safely and securely served more than 800.000 passengers in Tivat, on more than 8.600 incoming and outgoing flights.

The airports have reacted after the Vijesti portal published a statement by the Independent Union of ACG, which filed a criminal complaint with the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) against the Director of ACG, Roko Tolić, and the Director of Tivat Airport, Ivan Rakočević. They filed the complaint for, as they claim, abuse of official position, endangering the safe and secure operation of air traffic, negligent work in the service and other related criminal offenses within the jurisdiction of the SDT.

"In the specific case you are interested in, the employee signed a two-month contract annex, which transferred him from the position of wildlife management professional associate to the position of shift manager - who will perform work activities exclusively in the public zone, while performing some of the tasks for which he does not require additional licenses or training. After all, this is an employee who, a year ago, on his own initiative, citing his knowledge of airport procedures and his desire to contribute to improving the work process, officially proposed to be reassigned to this very position that he has now been temporarily assigned," the response reads.

They remind that all previous regular inspections by the competent aviation authorities have shown that Tivat Airport operates in accordance with regulations in the field of air traffic safety and security, "and we have not been informed of any criminal charges, nor, as far as we are aware, has any case been opened in either the police or the prosecutor's office on this occasion."

"This is, however, an opportunity to emphasize that decisions on the organization of work at the Airports of Montenegro are not and will not be made outside the Airports of Montenegro, and every employee will have to work and earn their salary. This is the only, and 'exclusive news', that we can announce regarding the text that was published," the response reads.
