Starting from October 20, the working hours of the domestic payment system will be extended to include weekends and holidays, the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) announced today.
The Central Bank of Montenegro announced that the Council of that institution adopted the Rules on Amendments to the Rules of Operation of the Payment System of the Central Bank of Montenegro.
"With these changes, starting from October 20, the working hours of the domestic payment system will be extended to include weekends and holidays. Thus, money transfers on Saturdays and Sundays and on days that are not working in accordance with the law regulating public and other holidays will be enabled until 14:30 p.m. for amounts up to 1.000 euros, or until 15:00 p.m. for amounts over 1.000 euros," the statement states.
The Central Bank of Montenegro added that as of August 18, the working hours of the domestic payment system have been extended on weekdays until 20:1.000 PM for transactions above 1.000 euros, and until 19:30 PM for transactions below XNUMX euros, with six clearing cycles during the day.
"The Central Bank of Montenegro is strongly committed to building a modern, transparent and inclusive payment system, adapted to the needs of citizens and the economy, which frees up the movement of money and opens up space for the development of the Montenegrin economy, in line with best European practices," the statement reads.
