The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) donated an outboard motor to the Skadar Lake National Park (NP), which will improve the working conditions of the Protection Service, the National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG) announced.
It is stated that CEDIS Executive Director Vladimir Ivanović and NPCG Director Marinela Đuretić signed a contract on the donation of an outboard motor.
"On that occasion, they emphasized the importance of cooperation in order to protect nature, control space and suppress all forms of illegal activities that may endanger the flora and fauna of protected areas," the statement said.
Đuretić thanked the representatives of CEDIS for their support and useful donation, which, she said, will further improve the working conditions of the Protection Service.
"Through joint cooperation, all competent entities in the nature protection system contribute to the preservation of its most important values and at the same time encourage other entities, such as the socially responsible company CEDIS, to participate in achieving more efficient results in resource conservation," said Đuretić.
She said that the use of quality equipment to protect water surfaces from poaching is not just a technical issue, but also a key element in the fight to preserve the natural balance and sustainable use of water resources.
Đuretić stated that investing in equipment brings long-term benefits both for nature and for local communities that depend on aquatic ecosystems, and above all, for the overall social community.
"Also, several valuable donations over the past months and improved cooperation with key institutions and organizations are confirmation of the recognition of the overall activities and efforts of the Public Enterprise in managing the NPCG facilities," added Đuretić.
Ivanović emphasized that CEDIS, as a socially responsible company, continuously and in accordance with its strategic goals, invests in projects of importance for the protection of the environment of Montenegro, as well as in the improvement of modern technical equipment in order to preserve natural heritage.
"In this regard, the donation to the Skadar Lake NP is an expression of our contribution to preserving the natural values of this protected area, recognized for its rich flora and fauna," said Ivanović.
He said that they believe that in the coming period they will continue to cooperate with the NPCG and other entities in the field of nature and environmental protection in order to preserve their values for current and future generations.
