Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) is a leader in the region in the green transition, and EPCG Solar gradnja represents a confirmation of the strategic vision for Montenegro to become an energy-sovereign and economically strong state, said the President of the Board of Directors of EPCG, Milutin Đukanović.
He said this at a ceremonial session marking the four-year anniversary of the founding of the EPCG-Solar gradnja company.
"EPCG Solar construction represents a confirmation of EPCG's strategic vision for Montenegro to become an energy-sovereign and economically strong state, relying on its own resources and the knowledge of domestic experts," said Đukanović.
He said that EPCG, together with Solar Construction, left a significant mark in the energy and green transition.
"And our key goal is to provide stable jobs and produce electricity as cheaply as possible," said Đukanović.
As he added, by the end of the year, Solar Gradnja will have close to 200 MW of new sources of electricity - from solar and wind.
"In order for them to be fully utilized, strong development of battery systems is necessary. It is precisely the combination of solar, wind and batteries that guarantees a stable price of electricity, and at certain times even a possible reduction in price," said Đukanović.
He pointed out that EPCG is considered a leader in the green transition in the region and announced that there is a possibility of building solar power plants with a capacity of several hundred megawatts.
"Solar Gradnja today can build a solar power plant 'turnkey', from the foundation to connection to the grid. I am convinced that the company is facing a golden age," concluded Đukanović.
Đukanović thanked the employees of EPCG Solar Construction for their dedication and the results they have achieved in the past four years.
The President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, pointed out that EPCG Solar construction is an example of a successful combination of industrial development and energy transition, as well as representing a new strength of the city's economy.
"All the results that this company has achieved deserve respect. Solar Gradnja today takes the place that the Bauxite Mine and the Ironworks once had in Nikšić, as a symbol of new industry and development," said Kovačević.
According to him, this company not only brings new values to the energy sector, but also opportunities for young people and women to demonstrate their leadership abilities.
The EPCG statement states that the President of the Board of Directors of EPCG Solar Construction, Marina Jočić, and the Acting Executive Director, Sanja Žugić, also spoke at the ceremony, emphasizing the commitment to the development of solar energy and the importance of cooperation with EPCG in achieving common goals.
