The solar power plant at the Slano Dam is a new step forward in Montenegro's energy transition, EPCG Solar Construction announced.
The management of the Electric Power Company (EPCG), EPCG Solar Construction, the President of the Assembly Andrija Mandić and the Mayor of Nikšić Marko Kovačević visited the Slano Lake dam, where the installation of a 2,5 MW solar power plant is underway.
EPCG Solar Construction said that the tour was led by the President of the Board of Directors of EPCG, Milutin Đukanović, and guests, who, by their presence, supported projects aimed at developing the city, creating new jobs, and strengthening the energy independence of Montenegro.
Marina Jočić, President of the Board of Directors of EPCG Solar Construction, said that she was extremely proud of this project.
"I am extremely proud, this project is being implemented under difficult conditions, on terrain with a large slope, and is a true masterpiece. I am especially pleased with the dedication of the workers who also work on Saturdays to take advantage of the good weather conditions," said Jočić.
Miro Vračar, head of FC Proizvodnja EPCG, said that this project represents an important step in the energy transition.
"This is something that is a green energy transition, the result of the work of the last four to five years. We must also mention the Vrtac solar power plant, which is already in the final phase, electrical works are underway, and now we are moving on, the solar power plant on the Slano dam is being installed, with a capacity of 2,5 MW," said Vračar.
The statement states that the solar power plant at the Slano dam represents another step forward by EPCG towards increasing the share of renewable energy sources and strengthening Montenegro's energy independence, and EPCG Solar construction remains an important part of all strategic projects in the field of solar energy.
