Employees of the state ski resort "Kolašin 1600", from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, protested at the "Klisura" tunnel, on the regional road Kolašin-Berane, asking the Government to urgently pay the promised state aid to the Ski Resorts of Montenegro.
As they said, in addition to regular earnings, the money is needed primarily for the repair of ski lifts, without which there is no safe use of the ski infrastructure.
As Dalibor Medenica, one of the workers at the ski resort, said, it is also necessary to repair the K7 cable car tower, which connects the state-owned ski resort with the private ski resort and allows skiers to use all the slopes on Bjelasica.
The protest also demanded that the artificial snowmaking project for the state-owned ski center, which is part of the Ski Resorts of Montenegro (SCG), be implemented as soon as possible.
"It is necessary to repair the pole on the K7 cable car, because if that cable car does not work during the winter, we will have a big problem and much less funds in the account. The Government's help is also necessary for the repair of poles on two cable cars and two ski lifts, as well as for the repair of technical equipment used by employees for maintenance and marking of trails. We appeal to the Government to implement the artificial snowmaking project for the "Kolašin 1600" ski center as soon as possible, because without the artificial snowmaking project, we will depend on weather conditions every year and "look at the sky". The main goal of this protest is the payment of state aid, not only for salaries, but also to enable the company to function normally," said Medenica.
He explained that the K7 and K8 ski lifts will not be able to operate during the winter if the repairs are not completed on time. None of the employees, said Medenica, wants to bear responsibility for the safety of skiers if the infrastructure is not repaired on time.
The protests, or rather a one-hour blockade of the regional road, he announced, will take place every working day at the same location. However, if the government does not meet the demands within seven days, the protests will last two hours on working days.
Support for colleagues employed at the "Kolašin 1600" ski center was also provided by workers from the SCG offices in Podgorica.
During the roadblock, employees at the state ski center allowed a vehicle carrying, as it was said, a baby with health problems to pass.
