I believe that it is German engineering excellence that will contribute to the development of Montenegro's green energy transition, in which wind energy will play a key role, announced today the German Ambassador to Montenegro, Peter Felten.

As reported by PR Center, as part of a strong investment cycle aimed at building a modern and sustainable energy infrastructure in Montenegro, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore AD Nikšić (EPCG) was visited today by the German Ambassador to Montenegro, Peter Felten, who discussed strategic projects in the field of renewable energy sources with the company's management, Executive Director Ivan Bulatović, and the Executive Director of the Directorate for Development and Investments, Ivan Mrvaljević, including the "Gvozd" wind farm.

During the meeting, they discussed Montenegro's energy transition projects, future plans of EPCG, as well as opportunities for strengthening cooperation with partners from Germany in the segments of green energy, digitalization and modernization of the power system.

PR Center reports that Felten expressed satisfaction with the progress that EPCG is making in the field of renewable energy sources, stating that he is glad to have the opportunity to attend the installation of the first parts of the turbines at the "Gvozd" wind farm.

"I think this is an important day for Montenegro. It is also an important day for EPCG, which is now starting to include wind energy in its energy portfolio. Of course, we are also pleased that EPCG is relying on German engineering excellence in this project. The Nordeks company, which has so far installed more than 40 gigawatts worldwide, is now present in Montenegro for the first time. These are truly high-tech, highly efficient wind turbines and I believe that it is precisely this German engineering excellence that will contribute to the development of Montenegro's green energy transition, in which wind energy will play a key role," said Felten.

Executive Director of EPCG, Ivan Bulatović, emphasized that Felten's visit represents confirmation of the strong trust and growing interest of European partners in the energy sector of Montenegro and the progress that EPCG is making in the implementation of strategic investments.

"We are honored to host Ambassador Felten today and present one of our most important projects - the 'Gvozd' wind farm. This is support for Montenegro. This is support for Montenegrin energy and everything we do at EPCG. This is proof that we are on the right track when it comes to energy transition and Germany's support means a lot to us in that sense. We hope that by the end of the year we will have produced the first kilowatt hours from this location and injected into our network," said Bulatović.

PR Center reports that "the Gvozd wind farm, whose construction is in the final phase, represents a continuation of EPCG's successful cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a significant step in the realization of Montenegro's goals within the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP)."

"Nordeks, a renowned company from Germany, is also participating in the implementation of this project, which further confirms the exceptional cooperation between EPCG and German business partners and the concrete results that this cooperation brings in the field of renewable energy. EPCG remains committed to strengthening international partnerships, developing new technologies and implementing projects that contribute to a stable, economically sustainable and green future of Montenegro," the PR Center text states.
