Elektroprivreda (EPCG) has announced a vacancy for an executive director after the state-owned energy company's Board of Directors removed Ivan Bulatović from the position last week before the end of his four-year term.

The candidate for executive director is obliged to submit, along with the application and documentation for the competition, the Program and plan of work and development of EPCG for the mandate period.

It is also necessary to meet the requirements of Article 172, paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 157 of the Law on Business Companies (a person convicted of criminal offenses against labor rights, against intellectual property, against payment transactions and business operations, against property and official duties may not be elected as an executive director, within three years from the date the verdict becomes final, provided that the time spent serving a prison sentence is not included in that period).

The Board of Directors appointed Acting Director (Acting) last week Bojana Đordana, the former executive director of the Directorate for Renewable Energy Sources (OIE)

The energy company's board of directors appointed Bulatović as CEO for a four-year term at the end of January 2024, after a full public competition procedure. Bulatović replaced Nikola Rovčanin, who had previously resigned, in the position.

The candidate for executive director is obliged to submit, along with the application and documentation for the competition, the Program and plan of work and development of EPCG for the mandate period.

Bulatović was removed from that position based on a political agreement between the parties that, among others, make up the government at the state level - PES, Bosniak Party and the coalition For the Future of Montenegro, it was confirmed to "Vijesti" by several sources who are familiar with the developments in the state energy company. According to the newspaper's sources, PES wanted better control over party employment, but Bulatović was not suitable for implementing these plans.

Interlocutors of "Vijesti" claim that Bulatović was offered to resign from the position of executive director and instead receive the position of director of the Regulatory Agency for Energy and Regulated Utilities, which he refused.

"The Prime Minister was also involved in these talks." Milojko Spajic", said one of the sources.

After his dismissal, Bulatović said that he remained consistent with his personal and professional values and that "no party interest has, and will not, sway me from working exclusively in the interests of the company and the state of Montenegro."

The deadline for applications is 15 days from the announcement of the competition.
